Memories of Fallen Marines Bolster Fed Judge's Ruling to Keep Mt. Soledad Cross Standing
ANN ARBOR, MI – Federal District Court Judge Larry Alan Burns, ruled yesterday that the giant cross atop Mount Soledad, the center piece of a national veterans’ memorial and subject of a 20 year legal battle, can stay as it is where it is.
Judge Burns wrote: “The Court finds the memorial at Mt. Soledad, including its Latin cross, communicates the primarily non-religious messages of military service, death and sacrifice.”
