Veterans Day
Today, November 11, 2016, we commemorate with solemn pride Veterans Day. We honor and remember the sacrifices of our veterans, and in the words of Abraham Lincoln, “to care for him who shall have borne the battle and for his widow and his orphan.”
Please see the short video clip linked here of that great American, Ronald Reagan, giving his thoughts on Veterans Day.
Veterans Day is also a day to remember and pray for our troops who, today, remain in harm’s way.
Let us take time to pray for our troops who have died in battle, and for their loved ones who still mourn their great loss. Their willingness to serve our country allows us to live freely, enjoying the abundances and splendor of America.
Veterans Day often brings to mind a quote attributed to George Orwell:
“People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.”
God bless our veterans and God bless America.
Sincerely yours,
