New Jersey Alive!

November 7, 2007 by

New Jersey citizens have not defeated a statewide ballot initative since 1990. This strikes the TMLC as important.  It shows that the Christians and others of good conscious that we know live in the mid-Atlantic states still have a voice.  Even though New Jersey is considered a “liberal” state, if you educate the people on the issue, AND the clergy are not afraid to speak up, we can win issues like these.   This is true democracy, unlike what we saw in New Jersey when their Supreme Court ordered the state legislature to OK civil unions.

Embryonic stem cell research has not lead to ONE cure of anything.  OTHER stem cell research has (i.e., adult, amniotic, umbilical cords, placentas, bone marrow, neural, etc).  The reason states and some scientists want embryonic stem cell research is money.  They can patent any discoverys made–if ever; get royalties or licensing fees.  Even without a “dicsovery,” scientists can take exsisting embryonic stem cell lines and prostitute them out for money.  Adult and other stem cells that don’t kill humans do not pose that monetary benefit because you can’t own them as chattel like embryonic stem cells.
